The extreme challenges of the location have given rise to some interesting support scenarios, including troubleshooting severe and extensive infrastructure damage from lightning strikes, as well as the more creeping damage caused by damp air and salt water corrosion.
The local WAN network is unusually complicated for the island's small human presence, with WLAN canopies, optical links, wireless links and satellite links all combining with multiple domains and subnets, VLANs, international VPNs, Hyper-V virtual machines and complex cabling solutions for the resort's systems.
