A couple of potential solututions for theRemote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX problem

If you are receiving the following error when trying to connect to a client desktop via Internet Explorer, the fixes below may prove the answer:

This portion of the Remote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Control. Your browser's security settings may be preventing you from downloading ActiveX controls. Adjust these settings, and try to connect again.

Fix 1 - XP SP3

The initial error I personally was encountering was that IE7 wouldn't seem to accept that I wanted to install the ActiveX control - I would ask to install it when it appeared in the bar at the top but then the same error would pop up when I attempted to access a client desktop - installing XP SP3 fixed this ( although I still have to employ the next fix to get the access working ).

Fix 2 - Enable the Add On

For some reason when you install the Remote Desktop ActiveX Control it is sometimes disabled by default, to remedy this simply:

Go to Tools in Internet Explorer

Select Internet Options

Click the Programs Tab

Click Manage Add Ons

Highlight Microsoft Terminal Services Client Control (redist) and make sure the Enable radio button is selected under 'Settings'.

You may have to restart Internet Explorer for these settings to take effect.
